about

As our new albums are to be found on Dubophonic Records label webpage, I and I initiate a new series of releases on our Bandcamp profile. Once in a while we will invite you to the Secret Archives of Muflon Dub Soundsystem. Each issue will present some unreleased, rare or long forgotten tracks and mixes, made in crucial moments of Muflon Dub's history.

First Chapter of the Secret Archives series takes us back to 2005 when the first Muflon Dub's album was released. It was called Massive Sound To Mash Down Jericho walls.

Now we reveal unique tracks from that time (and a short while after):

Tracks 1 to 4 are Dub versions of tracks from the album. Some of them where published as single tracks on some no-longer-existent platforms many years ago. Track 1 is a result of cooperation with BZSS, a musical project from South-Western Poland, consisting of musicians from bands like Paprika Korps or Duberman.

Track 5 is a version of a tune Muflon Man liked to rework and remix many times. It is a call for peace, coming back whenever a war was breaking out anywhere in the world. Years have passed, we are still calling for peace. This version was scheduled for some compilation of Polish Dub artists, that finally failed to be released. And it says that peace starts deep inside our hearts.

Track 6 is a Steppers version of Psalm 118, first song from the original album. It was intended to open the album in 2005, but just few days before the release date it was replaced by a better quality One Drop version. Still, in the original album, there is Dub version of this Steppers cut.

This is a custom of Muflon Dub Soundsystem to go back to some interesting ideas after a while. And to make new versions of old tracks, with more skill and fresh attitude. First attempt to re-release Massive Sound To Mash Down Jericho Walls appeared around 2009, but it did not succeed. Tracks 7 and 8 are songs from sessions to that re-release. Now you can hear Norma on backing vocals, instead of Queen Merry who was singing on the original album (and on tracks 1-6 of present release). Those two fantastic women and their unforgettable voices contributed the most to Muflon Dub's sound throughout the years.

Last song, Mission Ignition is a kind of Muflon Dub's manifesto. It did not appeared on the original album because of insufficient recording quality. Even the album title could have been Mission Ignition instead of Massive Sound (if only the title track had managed to jump in). Now we present you a version from 2009, with better quality.
